Sion come from Challenge league while Xamax are second from bottm in the Super league. The visitors have lost seven of last eight visits and have won just one game on the road for the whole season in the top division. Sion have won a lot at home including seven of last eight. The hosts are highly motivated and in top form, eager to return to the highest level. The visitors are lucky not to be gone down already and are in some kind of a crisis.

Mets have trouble with injuries of key starters and they have called Lima from Triple A to get some MLB action. he has lost both starts so far and vs Cards he is 1-5 in his career. Marquis also had some rough time losing four in a row for the home team, but he did some good throwing vs Arizona to keep them to just a single run in his last outing. So we have a pitcher in trouble vs a pitcher who may have found his way. The hosts' bullpen is a bit better and offensively both team are almost equal so the starter factor should be key here and it is very probable that Lima will allow more runs than Marquis.

Both players advanced due to injury of their first round opponents, but Soderling still managed to be in the event as a lucky loser as he fell to Kohlschreiber in qualies. The tall Swede has some wins on clay, but he prefers hard and indoors surfaces. Monaco is a typical clay courter who does not enjoy playing on other grounds. Expect some hard hitting, but Monaco has to prevail as he is better on clay and furthermore ha has beaten Soderling easily on clay last year in Rome.

Ancic did well on the faster courts in Rome, but here surface is very slow and he should be taken into more rallyes which he does not like as he has a strong flat forehand and almost no backhand worth mentioning. His opponent also does like playing on fast surfaces like hard, but still he has grown on clay and has the all court game to win more baseline rallyes than Ancic.

Maroth has pitched well so far this season and he has the others from the bullpen backing him with around 3.00 ERA. In his last two starts vs the Tribe he has given them one and two runs respectively and has proved he can hold them down. Johnson is an ex-Detroit pitcher and Tigers should know him well. Cleveland have their main strenght in offense and if they are restricted to just a few runs Johnson may be busted. Tigers are better on the road while Cleveland struggle at home and in these series the visitor has commanding power.

Pick: Honefoss Result: 1-1 Stake: 8/10 Odds: 1.95 Bookmaker: Nordicbet vCash: Yes
Posted: May 13, 2006, 08:20
Both teams started the year well, but Pors are just awful on the road failing to score a goal and receiving six in two matches. Honefoss are relatively good hosts as they had nine wins in 15 games last season and they started 2006 with a win over Bodo and a loss to top contenders Stromgodset. The visitors do well at home with three wins, but lose on the road. That must change some day, but they have lost three of the four meetings with Honefoss in the last seasons so it is quite uncomfortable for them to play on that arena.

Ancic has nothing to do with clay while his opponent already has one title on clay this year. The gutsy Peruvian is a fighter on the court and has the weapons to overcome a man who has nothing to offer in long rallyes especially if his forehand fails from time to time.

Pick: Vliegen Result: 2-0 Stake: 7/10 Odds: 1.80 Bookmaker: Bet365 vCash: Yes

Though many underestimated Vliegen he is a genuine clay courter with many games of experience on the surface mainly on Challenger level, but now more and more on main tour. He did very well thid week to get to the final and after beating the likes of Nieminen and Soderling deserves a shot at the title against his countryman Rochus. The younger brother Rochus plays well on all grounds with his good technique and fast legs. Yet he has faced easier opponents and his experience on clay is less than his opponent's now. Vliegen aims at first title on the tour and in the form he is now he surely is worth betting on to take it.

Pick: Sogndal Result: 1-0 Stake: 7/10 Odds: 2.00 Bookmaker: Bet365 vCash: Yes

Sogndal are a typical home team winning most of their points on home soil. They have started realtively well this year getting two wins at home. Moss were better on the road last season, but this year they are bad. They were just beaten 0-5 at home by Aalesund who are superior so far, but before that they conceded 2-4 to Tromsdalen, a team beaten by Sogndal 3-0. The hosts have beaten Moss at home in three of the last four meetings and having in mind the current form they should do it again.

Napoli are the top scoring team at home with 92 ppg hit and Capo have one of the weakest on the road allowing 86 ppg. They have a decent attack though hitting 80 ppg while the hosts allow 81.4. Being the favorites Nalopi should easily go into the late 80s and even get 90 points scored and Upea can really go into the 80s or at least get close to it which will take the total over the proposed line.

Estimations show this game going over 160 points and the level here is set well below that. Both team score around 80 points and Dijon who are favorites won the first game this season 90-78. They surely can go around that in scoring once again and Roanne have scored nearly 80 ppg on the road so the over looks good.
